A bit too early to see you

So I had a doppler velocimetry on JUne 7, 2017. A Doppler velocimetry is a way to make sure that the baby is getting a healthy supply of blood. The ultrasound thankfully showed that the circulation of blood was a-ok!

Lately I had been feeling more frequent tummy tightening. I could feel it harden real hard..rock hard.. and the vajayjay feels like something is pushing against it and I feel like peeing everytime the it happens :(

The visit to the OB confirmed that what I was feeling were contractions and that baby is already ready to come out as the doc could already feel the head has descended. I was still 32 weeks  pregnant! So not yet the time for him to see his beautiful mom.  My doc got worried that I might pop way before baby is full term, prescribed me ixolilan for the contractions and prescribed me to be injected with Betamethasone (Diprospan) to hasten the lil dude's lung maturity in case he might be born premature. the doc put me on bed rest again. But for my love, I would do anything even stay in bed for many more weeks until the right time for him to come out .

During the 2 week bedrest, I noticed that my panty almost always gets wet. And I also noticed that after I pee, liquid would continue to trickle. So during my next prenatal check up, I was told to have another ultrasound ASAP because the doc believed I was leaking. We had the ultrasound the day after and immediately showed it to the doc when we got the results. It showed the my amniotic fluid has gone down but was still within the normal limit but warrants close monitoring. So I was scheduled to have another sonogram, a BPS/NST, a week after.

On June 30, Wati and I went to CUPSI to have the sonogram. A fetal biophysical profile is a prenatal test used to check on a baby's well-being. The test combines fetal heart rate monitoring (nonstress test) and fetal ultrasound to evaluate a baby's heart rate, breathing, movements, muscle tone and amniotic fluid level. We got a score of 8/10 coz we got a zero in the amniotic fluid level test as my AFI has reduced to 5.0cm. I had Oligohydramnios...my amniotic fluid was already deficient and the sonologist told me that it was dangerous and it may lead to infections and I should be heading directly to the ER.

I got so scared. I was still 35 weeks pregnant. I should not be giving birth yet! I cried. Coz I was so scared. Wati wanted to go to the OB in the afternoon 1st but my parents wanted me to head to the hospital asap. We decided to go home 1st to prepare. I called the OB's clinic and told the secretary the result. She advised me to no longer go to the clinic but head directly to the hospital. So we waited for my mom to arrive, and went to CHH Mandaue.

While in the Labor and Delivery area of the hospital, my cervix was checked and if I remember it right I was still 1-2cm dilated. They wheeled me to the high risk labor room and attached some wires on my tummy to check on the baby. I was given something to hasten my contractions and was told by my OB to rest because she is sure that I would deliver my baby the next day.

I could not sleep because the docs and nurses had been checking up on me several times during the night. So far they said the baby was still ok. His heart rate his fine. I prayed a lot during those times in the labor room. I fell in and out of sleep. Feeling scared and excited at the same time. Soon I would be meeting the boy I had prayed for for so long. I prayed so hard that everything about him would be fine.
